Stephanie S. Sherrill, LPC, NCC, CCTP
Owner & Outpatient Therapist
Our business owner, Stephanie S. Sherrill, LPC, NCC, CCTP has earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Virginia Tech and a Master of Arts Degree in Counseling from Lenoir-Rhyne University. She is licensed by the State of Virginia as a Licensed Professional Counselor. She is also a National Certified Counselor and Certified Clinical Trauma Professional. She has ten years of clinical experience in treating children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families using individual and family therapy, specializing in anxiety management and trauma recovery. She is certified to use Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) for trauma treatment. Stephanie S. Sherrill, LPC utilizes cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, EMDR, and ecosystemic structural family therapy for most conditions. Depending on the person or diagnosis, other treatment approaches may be used. Treatment practices, philosophy, and plan limitations and risks will be discussed with you during your first session. Coming from an existential theoretical orientation, Stephanie believes there is growth in suffering. She tries to provide a comfortable and supportive setting while accompanying her clients on the journey to well-being.

Christyn Holley, LPC, CSAC
Outpatient Therapist
Christyn received her Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Criminal Justice from Ferrum College and her Master of Arts in Professional Counseling from Liberty University. Christyn is licensed by the State of Virginia as a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Certified Substance Abuse Counselor. She is also a Board Approved Supervisor. Christyn has worked in the mental health field for 14 years now. She truly has a passion for helping individuals accomplish their goals and becoming their best self. She utilizes a mixture of therapy types and skill sets to meet each individual exactly where they are and help them get where they want to be.
Denise Handy, LPC
Outpatient and School-Based Therapist
Denise received her Bachelor of Science Degree from Ferrum College and her Master in Education and Counseling Degree from Old Dominion University. Additionally, Denise has a Master of Counseling Degree from Liberty University and is licensed by the State of Virginia as a Licensed Professional Counselor. She has worked as a Qualified Mental Health Professional and also as a school counselor for twelve years. Denise has worked in the mental health field for five years with children, adolescents, and teens. She specializes in separation/divorce, anxiety, trauma, biblical-based healing, EMDR therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Play Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, and Christian Counseling.
Derek Rose, LPC
Outpatient Therapist
Derek Rose received his Bachelor degree in Psychology from Virginia Tech and Master of Science from Radford University in Counseling. As an undergraduate, Derek gained experience working at the Child Study Center at Virginia Tech, assisting with clinical studies working with children suffering from phobias and oppositional defiant disorder, and as a research assistant with a program doing ABA therapy. He has been working full-time in the field since completing his Bachelor degree at Virginia Tech in 2010. Derek has worked with children, adolescents, and families since, relying on structural family therapy and behavioral approach in his work with parents and children. Derek relies heavily on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and is trained in Trauma-Focused cognitive behavioral therapy. He also utilizes Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness, and Person-Centered therapy in his work with individuals and families.
Krystal Doucette, Resident In Counseling
Outpatient Therapist
Krystal Doucette is a Connecticut native, transplanted here in Henry County for the last
six years. Krystal has earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Southern New Hampshire
University, and a master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling from The Chicago School
of Professional Psychology. Krystal is currently licensed as a resident in counseling in the state
of Virginia and enjoys working with the LGBTQIA+ community as well as striving to provide
neurodiversity-affirming care to female-presenting individuals. Krystal works from a person-
centered and holistic perspective to build upon the strengths that clients inherently possess. In
addition to working with neurodivergent individuals, Krystal is also pursuing additional training
and experience in eating disorders, childhood trauma and attachment, and sex therapy. Krystal
utilizes cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, and leans on systemic and
feminist perspectives to best serve her clients.
Emily Wagoner
Executive Office Manager
Emily is originally from Waverly, IA; however, in the fall of 2022, she moved halfway across the country to Bassett, Virginia. She attended Waverly-Shell Rock Sr. High and graduated in 2013. After moving to Virginia, she began an internship through the WIOA program at Virginia Career Works where she worked in the P&HCC Fab Lab, and in the office at Virginia Career Works before joining us at Dandelion Counseling. She now works full time at Dandelion Counseling LLC as our Office Manager. Aside from working and online biblical studies classes, Emily is very active in church. She also enjoys spending her free time with her husband and her cat Judah. Emily enjoys traveling and food.
